Sacred geometry/Gothic rave: Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2015

Marc by Marc Jacobs Collection was engaging, and when I sit back and think, I’m intrigued. Many people are speaking of the collection as it being inspired by rave/punk culture.  Yet, I do see why. I tend to think of it on another level. There was this oversize button up shirt that really triggered my gears. I noticed that the designer duo Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley Peeked into scared geometry, which is explains laws of the universe covering Pythagorean geometry and the perceived relationships between geometrical laws that create the geometrical patterns in nature. You may see it coming in on a spiritual side of information about the universe. So, as I watched the models walk as strong down the runway I took more interest of how they played with geometry in a literal sense  using asymmetrical lines. Reading to the crowd that you’re not only extraordinarily unordinary, you can pull of the perception that you can have fun when coming to your wardrobe. They used innovative techniques when functioning on  prints that resembled street graffiti, layering, and clothing that appealed to have shapes that were very laid back.

Secondly, I noticed how the Designers both took an approach being political due to what is happening in the world. In my opinion, I felt that they may have been inspired by the economy; and world affairs that are betiding that gave me a revolutionary/Gothic vibe. Though, Politics are nothing new, You can see that occurring in many designers past and present collection. The way I see it there are a ton of issues, why not be inspired by ii.  If you were to ask me what pieces of clothing I would pull of the racks as we speak. I would point out both of these oversized pieces.

In addition, I do want to add how that I was quite shocked to see new designers taking place in the brand. I'm esteemed of them because they know how to take their ideas and be in a like mind of Mr. Marc himself.  What do you think about the duo so far? I know this isn't their first collection when it coming to working on this brand.

Other looks I loved.

Wings of Ma'at : Meskita Spring/Summer 2015

Must have !

Meskita's collection took a trip into the deep roots of African culture, and went through the ancient walls of Egypt. The influence shows in the collection without being literal... The style will work for women who want to feel like a goddess, and be prepared for social events such as pool parties, cook outs, and dinner dates.

The collection fabrications choices  were very gratifying due to the use of gold  lamé , which pull in the what the Egyptians of the time stood for as a sign of being born in richness, and the flow of the  clothing is amazing  I have been enticed by things that are in structure with a tranquility of movement within the pieces.

The most intricate thing I found interesting were the use of the Egyptian gods and goddess printed on some of the bags, along with rings that were placed on the tips of the fingers.

Attention to detail : Spring 2014 - Proenza Schouler

I have come to a realization that when viewing photos from a point of view and photos that pay attention to details from the designers shows are enthralling. You're capturing the mood of the collection's atmosphere that will possibly inspire you for your next move. Personally, I feel that it gives the show a different prospective and makes the garments more desirable and easier to understand.

While I viewed these photographs, I have taken notice of what the designer was thinking when in the post designing process of the collection.  Proenza Schouler understood the celebration of the women's figure with lines and structure that will give her that confidence. She will be filled with excitement because of how the pieces will look and feel against her skin.

Fashion Week Day 2

Oh fashion week from home is just a perfect way to relax and enjoy, well, FASHION!!
Day two, I’m already excited. I feel like I'm meeting and greeting people, strutting for the cameras, and answering questions on how I feel the show will take place as those leggy models grace the runway.
The fashion industry has truly progress for the ones who couldn't make it and or didn't get an invite. However, I still feel the anticipation and nerves getting worked up as the crowd takes their seats and the lights go dim for that very moment.
Today, I will be watching yet another live stream on Style.com and I will receive every blessing that was giving to me today.
In addition, I've also noticed that they take photos that are uploaded instantly as the show progress! Even in still photos you're able to die over your favorite designers.

Anyways, I have to go, I can't miss a thing.

later ;)

P.S Anna Wintour has nothing on me !!

Fashion Report: Long Tran SS13

For the first time in Long Tran's history this was the awaking moment for him and his fashion label Long Tran. Tran is a New York based designer whom I have had the chance of working with using his amazing pieces for my shoot that spoken a pure vision in the word fashion. Tran's collection gives you everything you would ask for from a fashion label, Art, creativity, and innovation.

Long Tran had the honor of presenting his new collection during NYFW showing his Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

When viewing the collection, and lookbook. I could not resist from seeing the beauty in both garments for Menswear and Womenswear. The Menswear represented a soft feel with the elements of pastel colours along with different textures, and a Masculine feel of tailoring , and metals that were incorporated in the styling of the line. Womenswear With the obscure use of raw silk and volumized lace, a soft nude is the foundation color of this seasons collection., and use of sheer fabrications capture the entire theme of softness.

All together Long Trans vision was to make the crowd realize that his garments are pure art and using different shapes that captivates the feel of Avant Garde.

Another interesting thing I find cool is how designer such as him turns the art form of Origami that is originated from Japanese culture into their collections. In Long Tran's case he's done a swell job.

"I was nervous the whole time but after the show,  I was so happy and excited."- Long Tran

I had the pleasure of finding out more about his collection.

What were you thinking about when design your collection for spring.summer 13?
I thought about the color and silhouette

In compression from your last collection what's different about it this season?
More texture and more look.  Silk and lace for women, light wool, cotton and silk for men.  Of course, there is a different color pallette..

How would you define your city's fashion? And how does it pull into your collection?
New York?   I love this fashion city, however it is too busy.  The place from NYC - Dimenna Center was where I have my show at.   It is amazing and inspired me show for runway and the collection as well.

What was the process of putting everything together for fashion week?
Wow,  it is a long plan (6 month before).  We start with picking the location, the the collection, the shoot, then the show,  but there is something more than that -  the models and the sponspors.

What was the feeling to show case your first collection during NYFW?
I was nervous the whole time but after the show,  I was so happy and excited

How do you select your models?
My PR (Drew) and I had a casting 2 weeks before the show to find new faces that fit with the look I want for the show

What's your favorite part about conceptualizing a design?
The favorite part are creating and seeing my designs come true.

What matters to you most as a fashion designer?
The concept, ideas and how to translate from sketches to actual garments.   For others, they focus more on the business side, but to me, passion cannot be bought buy money.  It is important to have a skill and ideas to make it happen.  I rather being poor and make people inspire by my works rather than live rich and design simple clothes.

Where can readers buy your clothes/jewelry?
They can buy at: www.shop.longtran.co

How do you edit your collection each season for press, bloggers, etc?

Showing more dramatic clothes is my goal for each collection to impress others. Additionally, it have to look completely different from the last collection.

The collection seemed to be influenced by origami , What was your vision for this and incorporating it into your collection?

For the spring SS12 collection, I tried to create clothes in different fabric, different texture, different shape something that people never seen before.  Origami is something that I think aabout for the collection from pleating the fabric.

How would you define your personal style?

My personal style will be: simple and clean

How would you define the style your line exemplifies?

I wished I could create a new vocabulary to describe my aesthetic for my line,  I would said unique and artistic are what I am going for

How would someone use some of your pieces in daily life?

To go to art gallery, or special events related to fashion or they could use some of the more simple pieces for street wear or daily basic ( still look high end)

Where can readers find out more about you and your work?

They can go to www.longtran.co, www.longtranblog.wordpress.com  OR Facebook at:  www.facebook.com/longtran.co
